Managed to sell my Roland JV-2080 at last in favor of my XV-3080. Still not fond of the problematic SmartMedia card feature of the XV, but at least there's MIDI dumps.
Also, in light of when this blog was posted, Happy Thanksgiving to those who live in the US! Sadly, family plans over this holiday are preventing me from being productive for the week, but I will resume as soon as I can.
