So I ended up deciding to take on a rather interesting project relating to synthesizers and sound design.
First, a bit of background: one of the first ever samplers made, and arguably the first that we take for granted in some ways, was the original Emulator I by E-mu Systems.

While it was inspired by the Fairlight CMI, it actually had a few enhancements, such as being the first to truly support multi-sampling, while still being somewhat of a budget sampler. Alas, it was quickly overshadowed by other samplers, including even E-mu's followup Emulator II, so it's hard to come across one, let alone in working condition, and it seems extremely unlikely the entire factory library will be made available beyond the snippets in UVI's EmulationOne.
That said, I've decided to take the matter into my own hands. I had acquired a Kryoflux board a while back, and as of yesterday, I'm dumping floppies meant for the Emulator I on a significant scale. It's unlikely I will sell these sounds on my own for obvious copyright reasons, though I am considering reaching out to Digital Sound Factory about it, that soundware developer being the current copyright owner of the E-mu sound libraries.
Whether I do distribute on a large scale or not, be assured that as long as I'm around, this bit of history will not be forgotten.
This project in mind, I'm also considering going back to basics on my YouTube channel and revisiting uploading videos related to synthesizers in general. Thankfully, this project will easily be on the list of planned videos if I do end up going back to this, but I'm open for input regarding whether I should do this. Feel free to let me know what you think, whether it's in the comments of this post or elsewhere.
Either way, I also wrap up this year of blog posting with a late Happy Holidays to everyone! Hopefully my projects can be considered a New Year's resolution, but either way, hope 2019 is a good year for everyone!
