So, today, I was taking care of some matters unrelated to music, and during that period, I got countless emails within a minute. Checking my emails later, I discovered that Soundcloud, the site I primarily use for sharing sounds, especially works in progress, removed several of my tracks, telling me that they removed them on the basis of copyright infringement!?
Sorry, but I don't know where they came up with the logic that I was stealing my own music. The only track they listed for removal that wasn't 100% my own work was a cover of Gary Numan, which I had obtained a license to distribute legally! The only possible explanation as to what led them to take such actions was that all of the tracks in question I had allowed for distribution by an aggregator.
Nonetheless, regardless of the reason, it does lead me to question whether I should have so many tracks on the site. Expect me to remove some early tracks over the next few weeks.
