Terminator 2 Soundtrack Recreation - Part 1

Anyone who follows me closely enough knows my obsession with the Terminator movies. To celebrate the second movie's 25th anniversary, I decided to take on the project of attempting to recreate most of the many pieces from the movie that never made it onto CD, from the T-800's percussive theme to the ambiences in Pescadero.

First video is now uploaded to YouTube. It covers most of the music up until the end of the canal chase.

It's important to note, however, that this is as far as I plan to go with distribution: I cannot sell these recreations for obvious legal reasons, even despite it could technically classify as cover music. It is my hope that I can later work something out directly with Brad Fiedel, the composer, in the way of allowing free download as well, but given this is his compositions, I'm expecting it will be limited to YouTube, which I'm grateful for having a built-in cover song monetization feature.

Python, what are you using to emulate the Fairlight?

I looked for Terminator 2 samples like Brassfal1 in Fairlight sample packs, but couldn't find it so I downloaded a trial of Arturia's CMI V Emulation. I used the default preset and looked for the samples. There is a sample called 'Brassfal1' (the T-1000 sound) in there, but when I play it in the low octave, it has the tone of the Brassfal1 sample, but it plays very differently, instead of a straight up fall articulation.

Thanks for the comment. As someone who tried out CMI V, my experience is that it's a very crude recreation of the Series IIx, which was an 8-bit sampler, whereas the Series III is 16-bit, supported stereo, and had an almost completely different sample set. By the way, in the Series III factory library, the T-1000 sound is titled "BrassFall12".

Whoops! Sorry! So that's Series III and Brassfall12 not 1. Somehow missed the 2s and IIIs. Yeah, I'm not the best in math.

Neverthelss, I tried to track down the III-samples, but had no luck. I wonder if they were originally recorded for the Fairlight, or if they were outsourced/licensed 3rd party library (which is actually common for big libraries) where one might alternatively find them (plus they could be more extensively sampled). However, it seems the only existing non-competion (EMU) orchestral libraries at the time were the Prosonus ones.
